Program - BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Language Speakers)
The Regular BIPA Program is designed to help participants learn to communicate in Indonesian in various situations and contexts. The program is offered in six levels organized on the basis of Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF). Sessions are organized twice a week, each lasting for two hours. The program is available three times a year: January – April, May – August, and September – December periods.

| Pre Elementray (BIPA 1) | Upon completing this level, participants are expected to be able to understand and use contextual expressions to introduce oneself and fulfill daily routines and needs in a simple manner to communicate with a very cooperative interlocutor. |
| Elementary (BIPA 2) | Upon completing this level, participants are expected to be able to express their feelings in a simple manner, describe the surrounding environment, and communicate their daily needs and routine |
| Pre Intermediate (BIPA 3) | Upon completing this level, participants are expected to be able to express their experiences, hopes, goals, and plans briefly and in a coherent manner with reasons in the context of their daily life and work. |
| Intermediate (BIPA 4) | Upon completing this level, participants are expected to be able to report their observations of events and express their ideas about topics in their field, both abstact and concrete, fairly fluently without obstacles that interfere with their interlocutor’s understanding. |
| Upper Intermediate (BIPA 5) | Upon completing this level, participants are expected to be able to understand long and complex texts and express viewpoint ideas in various topics spontaneously and fluently almost without any obstacles, except in profession and academic and academic specific fields. |
| Pre Advance (BIPA 6) | Upon completing this level, the participants to be able to understand long, complicated, and implicit texts and able to express ideas in clear, structured, systematic, and detailed language spontaneously and fluently in accordance with speech situations for social and professional purposes, except in complex academic fields (scientific works). |
| Advance (BIPA 7) | Upon completing this level, participants are expected to be able to understand information in almost any field easily and express ideas spontaneously, fluently, precisely by distinguishing nuances of meaning, as well as reconstructing arguments and data in a coherent presentation. |
Offline Regular Class
The regular program consists of 3 to 10 students. The classes are scheduled 3 or 4 times a week (2 hours per session) on the following schedules.
- Monday & Wednesday & Friday (08.00-09.40 or 10.00-11.40 or 1.00 pm-2.40 pm or 3.00 pm-4.40 pm)
- Monday & Thursday (08.00-09.40 or 10.00-11.40 or 1.00 pm-2.40 pm or 3.00 pm-4.40 pm)

BIPA Private Tuition Program is a one-to-one (one student, one teacher) tuition for students who want to have a more personalized instructional content and more flexible schedule and setting. Application for this program is open all-year-round.

Cooperation Class of BIPA Program is based on cooperation between Balai Bahasa UPI and particular institutions, such as government, private enterprises and organization, or internal units in UPI, which is designed to meet specific objectives of the customers. Some programs successfully conducted are under cooperation with Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia (Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia) that involved awardees of Darmasiswa and KNB scholarships, with DaewooSKY from South Korea that was participated by participants of Global Young Business Manager (GYBM) program specifically oriented for professional and business purposes, and with AIA Victoria Australia that provided an opportunity to participants of bahasa Indonesia course in Australia who have interest to immerse themselves in Indonesian society in order to learn more about Indonesian language and culture.
